Being able to make effective use of music in teaching children is one goal of supplemental qualification for pedagogical specialists in music and rhythmics. Musical basis and methods are taught, such as how children’s development can be playfully developed through music in areas of perception, motor coordination, language development and thought. The learning goals set in the Berlin Educational Programme in the Area of Music are given priority.

The joint project Kinder_Kunst _Räume of the University of Erfurt and the Foundation SPI is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). This continuing education programme is aimed at professional artists and qualifies them to work in art education in day-cares, kindergartens and the transition from kindergarten to primary school.
